PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Office of Housing and Community Development <br />Mainstream Voucher Program ONLY <br />As required, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is providing notice <br />that on November 27, 2018, it will begin accepting on-line applications for the Mainstream <br />Voucher Program. The Mainstream Voucher Program provides federal voucher rental <br />assistance for eligible non -elderly disabled households in the County of Hawaii. <br />An eligible applicant is defined as a household composed of one or more non -elderly person <br />with disabilities, which may include additional household members who are non -elderly persons <br />with disabilities. A non -elderly person is defined as a person 18 years of age or older and less <br />than 62 years of age. A household where the sole member is an emancipated minor is not an <br />eligible household. <br />Applicants who are non -elderly persons with disabilities and provides documentation at the time <br />that they meet with a Housing Specialist to support that they are transitioning out of institutional <br />and other segregated settings, at serious risk of institutionalization, homeless, or at risk of <br />becoming homeless will be given a preference over those who do not meet this criteria. <br />The Mainstream Voucher Program provides rental assistance to help low income households <br />obtain affordable housing which is safe, decent, and sanitary. <br />2018 Applicable Income Limits <br />Number of Household Members <br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />27,500 <br />31,400 <br />35,350 <br />39,250 <br />42,400 <br />45,550 <br />48,700 <br />51,850 <br />The Pre -Application form will be available on-line at www.hawaiicounty. iov/online-services from <br />8:OOAM on November 27, 2018. All applications received by the OHCD will be assigned an <br />initial position number. If the OHCD receives more applications than available Mainstream <br />vouchers, the OHCD will use a randomizing system to determine the applicant's final position <br />number on the waiting list. Only applications received by 4:30PM on December 7, 2018, will <br />be included in the initial randomizing system. All applications received after 4:30PM on <br />December 7, 2018, will be placed on the waiting list in the order in which it was received. <br />If you are a person with disabilities that limit your ability to access the online application <br />process, please contact the OHCD at 959-4642 to request a reasonable accommodation. <br />Duly submitted by Neil S.
